FAQs

  • General Information
  • What are the main differences between the Filth packages?
All of our packages use the same premium grade waterless cleaning products and to keep it simple, we only have three options to choose from: Filthy Outside - we will clean every part of the outside of the car including the bodywork, exterior glass, any exterior trim/plastic and the wheels/tyres. Filthy Inside & Out - as the Filthy Outside package but also includes removing any rubbish, a vacuum, the interior glass and any interior plastic/trim. We'll also leave a Filth Air Freshener in the car to keep it smelling lovely. Super Filthy - as the Filthy Inside & Out package but for those more heavily soiled carpets and seats. We'll use our special car shampoo to get rid of the more stubborn filth.
  • What is a waterless car valet?
Unlike traditional car washing methods, we use a range of premium grade cleaning products made specifically for cars. The products are eco-friendly and contain components which lift the dirt allowing use to remove it safely with micro fibre cloths before using a fresh cloth to then polish the carnauba wax element (the world's toughest natural protective wax), giving your car a super shiny finish. The products we use for plastic/trim, wheels/tyres and the interior work in exactly the same way.
  • Are the waterless products harmful to the environment?
Our products do not contain hazardous chemicals unlike those contained in most conventional style car washes such as petroleum, acids, solvents etc. that may have an environmental impact. In addition, there is no run-off from waterless washing as there is no rinsing involved unlike the thousands of gallons of contaminated wastewater that potentially goes directly into waterways when using traditional bucket-and-hose method washes. On average, a conventional car wash uses over 150 litres of water per car. Our products use around 1 litre so think of all the water you're helping save by using Filth!
  • Will using waterless products damage my paint?
No. Dirt particles are liquified and encapsulated by special premium grade polymers on contact and are gently ‘lifted and suspended’ away from the surface preventing them from revisiting the surface of the paintwork. Our Premium grade products also contain Carnauba waxes which coat the vehicle’s base metal and wax coat the paint surface at the same time for double protection; repelling water, making the surface super slick, shiny and giving anti-static protective qualities. This helps to prevent dust being attracted to the surface keeping the surfaces cleaner and shinier for much longer than old-style traditional washing.
  • Will I get scratch marks or swirls as a result of waterless cleaning?
No. Our nano solutions are formed to break down and encapsulate surface dirt that can be safely removed from the vehicle surface using clean microfibre cloths without damaging any paintwork. You are more likely to scratch your car using a traditional washing method as sponges retain dirt. Each of our valeters are highly trained ensuring your car is perfectly cleaned, every time.
  • Are there any limitations on where my car can be parked?
In a word, no. We don't require water or power so we can clean your car anywhere from underground garages to the top floor of a multi-storey car park. We ask that you give us a little bit of space around the car but we're used to working in tight spots so generally speaking, anywhere is fine. NB. Please check the areas that we operate in though before booking."
  • Will you need water or electricity providing to clean my car?
No. We don’t use water and we have battery powered cordless hoovers so will not require access to any water or electricity.
  • How long will it take for you to clean my car?
We factor about 30-45 minutes for an outside clean and up to 1.5 hrs for an in and out clean.
  • Can I cancel an appointment? Will I get charged if I do so?
We totally understand that plans change and you may need to change your appointment. We want to keep it simple and all cancellations can made be made through our online booking platform or by emailing us. Refunds will be made immediately but can take 7-10 to reach your bank. Cancellations made within 12 hours of the booked time will be subject to the full fee and no refund will be given. • Can I unlock my car remotely for you or do I have to be present?
Absolutely. If you have a car that has the functionality, you don’t even need to come out and say hello. We will call you when we arrive so that you can unlock your car. Once finished we will call you again to lock it. If you select our Filthy Outside package, you won't even need to be present. Just tell us where the car will be parked at the time of booking.
  • Will you refund me if I am not happy with the service you have provided?
Absolutely! Although, we're confident that won't be the case.
  • Can I join a for a regular service under a subscription?
We are currently working on a subscription package. Stay tuned for more info!
  • I have a ceramic coating / professional polish on my car, can I still use you to wash my car?
Yes it is completely safe. Our cleaning methods do not use any abrasive solutions that may remove coatings. If anything out products will enhance the protection you already have.
  • Are Filth insured against damage to my vehicle?
Yes we are. We have full professional indemnity and public liability insurance covering all of our valeters.
  • Are you able to clean any amount of filth from my car?
Whilst our mission is to clean every car in London, unfortunately our products are only suitable for light to medium amounts of filth. If you've just returned from a weekend of off-road driving in Wales, we're afraid that you will need to visit a conventional car wash. We will however be able to help keep your car looking clean from then onwards. The majority of cars in London suffer from light pollution filth and rarely anything greater. That's what we love and what we were formed to tackle. If in doubt, please get in touch before booking. If you book a Filth valet and your car looks like it has been off roading when we arrive, we reserve the right to charge a full cancellation fee.
  • What happens if it is raining (or even snowing) at the time of my booked appointment?
If you have scheduled a valet and your car is parked in a garage, we will clean it no matter what the weather is. If it's outside however, we will contact you on the day to reschedule for free.
  • What happens if it rains after you have cleaned my car?
Unfortunately and as much as we would love to have this power, we can't control the weather. However, the Carnauba wax contained within our products will actually allow the rain water to roll off the bodywork keeping your car looking cleaner for longer.
  • How do I use a promotional code?
When you've entered your booking details and before you proceed to pay, you will see a box for any promotional codes. Pop it in there and we'll do the rest.
